When Amazon released their large format Kindle DX e-book reader in June of 2009, it created a lot of excitement in the world of academic publishing. The original Kindle, released in November 2007, and the enhanced Kindle 2, which followed in February of 2009, had both created some interest – but nothing like the level of buzz generated by the DX.

December 5th, 2009 admin Unless you’ve been on another planet for the past ten months, you must have seen the buzz surrounding the Amazon Kindle. In February 2009, Amazon launched their Kindle 2 reader. A little later, in June, the large format Kindle DX was released.

November 27th, 2009 admin This has been a big year for e-book readers – thanks mainly to Amazon’s efforts. The Kindle 2 was launched in February of 2009, which is an improved version of the first Kindle, originally released in November 2007.
